Abodo Wood has won the Renewables Impact Award at the NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards held at Shed 10 on Auckland’s waterfront on 24 November.
The NZI Sustainable Business Network (SBN) Awards are New Zealand’s longest-standing and pre-eminent sustainability awards. The awards are now in their 13th year and are designed to recognise businesses that are making a real difference by innovating New Zealand’s business landscape.
The judges said that, “Abodo Wood gets around the issue of not being able to dispose of treated wood used in building. This has the potential impact to divert treated wood from the waste stream and prevent large scale burning of treated wood.”
“We don’t claim to be saving the world at Abodo. We produce a range of natural timber cladding and decking that is safe for people and the environment – and it is through this that we feel we make a contribution. It’s fantastic to be recognised at the Sustainable Business Network Awards” said Daniel Gudsell, Abodo’s Marketing Director
