Homestar have recognised Abodo’s Vulcan timber as one way to create a healthier home.
Homestar is a comprehensive, independent national rating tool that measures the health, warmth and efficiency of New Zealand houses.
Developed by the New Zealand Green Building Council, Homestar is tackling some of the issues faced in New Zealand around healthy homes.
Working on a points based rating system, Homestar rates homes on a scale of 6-10.
Homestar has recognised Abodo’s Vulcan timber as one way to create a healthier home – and for that reason builders and homeowners are rewarded with an additional “innovation” point.

Abodo products achieve additional Homestar points for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certification and Declare certification under the current Homestar framework.
